During a recent episode of the Legends N Leaders podcast, the 75-year-old bassist shared his thoughts on hip-hop’s place in the Rock Hall, arguing that the genre does not belong there.

Simmons said he previously had a respectful back-and-forth with #IceCube about the issue. “Ice Cube and I had a back and forth — he’s a bright guy and I respect what he’s done. It’s not my music. I don’t come from the ghetto. It doesn’t speak my language,” Simmons said.
