We talk a lot about creating space for learning at Buffer. One of the simplest ways we do that is our book benefit! 📚

Every teammate can expense unlimited ebooks and audiobooks (including subscriptions like Kindle Unlimited). No approvals needed, and no need to justify it as “career related.” We support everything from sci-fi and romance to leadership and craft! 🤩

Recently, hamstu (Senior Software Engineer at Buffer) built a lightweight internal bot to make our collective reading a little more shareable! 🥳

Here is how it works:

- Finance sends a batch export of book expenses
- The nifty bot parses key details like title, author, and cover image
- It posts updates into our #culture-books channel
- It updates our public bookshelf
- AND it generates a visual recap of what we’ve been reading lately!

It’s a small, thoughtful example of something we love at Buffer: systems that help culture show up in everyday moments.

If you want a peek at our ever-evolving team bookshelf: buffer.com/books ✨

And if you feel like sharing, what’s the last book you couldn’t stop talking about? ⬇️ 💬
