USask continues its commitment to truth and reconciliation with a powerful new Orange Shirt Day design by Indigenous artist and educator Chris Chipak.

🗯️ “We were once all children. I hope we all see [this design] as a visual reminder that every child matters, and we are all connected,” said Chipak, a member of Red Pheasant Cree Nation and a #USaskAlumni.

🧡 Orange Shirt Day is observed on Sept. 30 and is a time for reflection, learning and remembrance. It invites Canadians to confront the legacy of residential schools and engage in meaningful conversations about reconciliation.

💡DYK – since 2019, more than $49,000 has been raised through #USask orange shirt sales. These sales support implementing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, with a portion of the funds directed back to the artists who create the new designs each year.
