Phoenix was diagnosed with leukemia years ago, and facility dogs became an unexpected source of comfort during her darkest days. Something as simple as a dog’s presence reminded her she was still herself—still worthy of unconditional love.
Today, she’s a dietetic intern at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, giving back to the community that held her up.
