I mean the invisible noise.

The constant hum of being needed.

The snack requests.
The “Mom, where’s my…”
The arms reaching up for comfort.
The mental inventory of whose favorite shirt is still buried in the hamper.
The questions. So many questions.
The decisions. All of them.

The loudest part wasn’t the sound.

It was the weight.

No one really talks about how draining it is to be everyone’s safe place, problem solver, and snack bar all at once.

Silence isn’t a luxury for some of us.
It’s survival.
