It’s a wrap on 2025—and what an unforgettable way to spend my final days ...in the Philippines, surrounded by the cast and crew of Big Tiger and dear friends.

I am deeply grateful to have returned to the ancestral homeland of my Filipino family, while simultaneously embracing my love for the art of filmmaking. By fate, I was given the opportunity to shadow my colleague and friend, director Keoni Waxman—an experience I truly treasure.

At the same time, I had the joy of joining my husband, Ron Balicki, on the action side of the production, helping shape elements of a women’s fight scene alongside our former student from years ago, the beautiful and talented actress Katherine McNamara, and her formidable “combative” partner, the wonderful Max Collins. It was also incredible to witness my husband reunite with actor Byron Mann, and to make a new friend in the multi-talented Alden Richards as he stepped into his very first international film. Lovely to meet actor Luke Goss and the rest of the cast members.

From the stunt team to the camera crew, special effects, every department, and the incredible producers who graciously allowed me to hang around—I felt nothing but generosity, passion, and collaboration.

To my filmmaking colleagues around the world: the Philippine entertainment industry is ready, eager, and filled with heart. They are hungry to work with you and committed to bringing your vision to life.

As a director with a background in action, I was inspired to witness the relentless hard work and dedication of the talent—both behind and in front of the camera.
