In August 2011, during a 22–9 blowout win by the New York Yankees over the Oakland Athletics, Jorge Posada played second base for the only time in his MLB career. In the ninth inning, a routine ground ball was hit his way, but his throw to first base was off-line and shaky — far from perfect and almost wild.

Luckily, first baseman Mark Teixeira made the scoop at first, securing the out and ending the game. Even though the relay wasn’t clean at all, it still counted as the final out — a funny and memorable defensive moment in Posada’s legendary Yankees career.
