This #MoodySpotlight is from Donna, Texas. Meet Daniella Garcia, a senior studying public relations with a minor in sports media at Moody College. Daniella chose PR for its versatility and the opportunities it offers to connect with people through storytelling. 

Reflecting on what drew her to Moody, Daniella shares: “I chose Moody because of the creativity that flows through the building. Being surrounded by people who are constantly creating made me realize that communication is more than just talking. It’s about storytelling, bringing ideas to life, and connecting with people.” 

​Working at Texas Studios has been a highlight of her Moody experience because it opened her creative world and combined her love for sports with live production. “That experience led me to work with LOVB Austin, and those skills eventually helped me land my current internship with Austin FC as a match experience intern. My favorite memory has to be working the Big Noon Kickoff with Fox Sports. I got to do so much in such a short amount of time, and it was surreal getting to meet people I grew up watching on TV.” 

Daniella’s favorite Moody memory? Seeing Glen Powell at the chadpowershulu screening! And this semester, she’s looking forward to experiencing all of her lasts on the Forty Acres. Her favorite spot to study is the Center for Sports Communication’s space in the CMA building.
