Pop time doesn’t drop by accident.
When remote catcher Lawrence Roccamo came to VeloU, his evaluation showed a solid base for his age. But two clear limiters stood out:

• He was light for his frame
• He had extra movement in his throwing pattern

For a catcher, unnecessary movement costs time. And without enough strength and power, it’s hard to produce force quickly behind the plate.

So the priority was simple:
Add size.
Improve force production.
Clean up the throw to stay compact.

Over the last 3 months, using consistent remote communication and monthly onsite visits for testing and adjustments, the numbers followed:

Throwdown velocity: 75 → 79 mph
Pop time: 1.89 → 1.79
60-yard dash: -0.31 seconds

That’s not random improvement. That’s strength carrying over into movement.
The weight room consistency improved force and power, which reduced wasted motion and helped his throw become more efficient under a time constraint.

Heading into season, the focus doesn’t stop. Weekly workload is adjusted around his schedule to maintain strength in-season. Video feedback continues. Onsite visits remain part of the system so testing and communication stay tight.

Remote training works when evaluation, buy-in, and adjustments stay aligned.
That’s how VeloU approaches catcher development.

Find the limiter. Support it physically. Remove wasted movement. Track the carryover.
