Max Bredeson didn't come to Ann Arbor for the stats; he came to move people against their will. After arriving as a preferred walk-on in 2021—and spending his high school days as a quarterback—Bredeson transformed into the most respected player in the Michigan locker room. He isn't just a "blocker"; he’s a strategic weapon who defined the "Smash" identity that led Michigan to three Big Ten titles and the 2023 National Championship.

As of February 16, 2026, Bredeson has officially moved into the "Michigan Immortal" category. He capped off his final college season in 2025 by winning the Lowman Trophy (awarded to the nation’s best fullback) and earning his second consecutive vote as Team Captain. Alongside his brother Ben, they are the first brother duo in the 146-year history of the program to both be two-time captains. Having just received his 2026 NFL Scouting Combine invite, Max is currently projected as a mid-to-late round steal for a team looking to bring back the "Pro-Style" hammer.
