Mark your calendars!! You are all cordially invited to a FREE screening of the Oscar-nominated documentary The Alabama Solution at 5:30 PM on Monday, Feb. 23 in Smith Hall. 

The Department of Communication and Media Studies is co-sponsoring this event with The Freedom of the Press Foundation and Join Jeremy, an organization devoted to uplifting incarcerated journalists and writers. The film will be introduced by one of the incarcerated reporters featured in the film, Jeremy Busby, calling in from prison in Alabama. Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion about mass incarceration and undercover reporting both in and outside of prison with Institute to End Mass Incarceration lawyer Corinne Shanahan, law professor Alan Chen and the FPF’s Seth Stern. And there will be pizza! 🍕
