The only walk-off touchdown in regulation in NFL playoff history

On January 14, 2018, the Minnesota Vikings were 10 seconds away from another entry in their long history of postseason heartbreak. Trailing the New Orleans Saints 24-23 and facing a 3rd-and-10 from their own 39-yard line, QB Case Keenum heaved a "prayer" toward the right sideline. Stefon Diggs leaped, snagged the ball, and braced for a hit that never came. Saints safety Marcus Williams missed the tackle, and Diggs sprinted 61 yards into the end zone as the clock hit 0:00.

As of February 2026, the Minneapolis Miracle has officially entered its 8th Anniversary season. This year, the Vikings are celebrating 10 Seasons at U.S. Bank Stadium, with the "Miracle" remaining the undisputed greatest moment in the venue's history. The play was so impactful it literally changed the NFL Rulebook; the "Minneapolis Miracle Rule" now states that an extra point is no longer required if a touchdown as time expires wins the game. While the Vikings' 2025 season was a "roller-coaster," as the team described it last month, this play remains the gold standard for pure, unadulterated sports joy in the Twin Cities.
