For the first time, all six stars of Netflix’s breakout hit “#KPopDemonHunters” sat down together following their Critics Choice wins for best animated feature and best original song, “Golden.”

After years of rejection and near misses, the global smash has become one of Netflix’s most watched titles ever, racking up 482 million views in six months while “Golden” topped Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart for 20 weeks. “It’s vindicating. It’s long overdue,” says #ReiAmi, the singing voice of Zoey. “We worked our asses off. We’ve had the door shut in our faces. We were told we were too little, too much.”

What began as a culturally specific risk blending Kpop, Korean shamanism and superhero spectacle has turned into a movement about identity, belonging and being seen, resonating deeply with queer audiences, immigrant families and a new generation of filmmakers who see the film as proof that the rules of Hollywood can still be rewritten.

“It takes a lot of guts to be who you are,” #JiyoungYoo says, reflecting on the film’s impact and the fight to keep it unapologetically Korean. For many fans, the anthem “Golden” captures that journey: “I’m done hidin’, now I’m shinin’ like I’m born to be.”
