Margot Robbie says ‘Wuthering Heights’ is for the audience! 🔈

Despite the film opening at No. 1 at the box office, the movie has sparked polarizing reactions from critics and the general viewing public, with many mixed reviews about its plot, characters and general vibe. 

But for Margot Robbie, that reaction is part of the conversation she wants to have.

 “I consider audience always. I’ve never, ever been on set and thought, ‘What are the critics going to think of this?’” she told a Vogue Australia panel, adding, “I’m like, ‘What’s an audience going to feel right now? What’s their emotional response going to be?’ I just believe you should make movies for the people who are buying the tickets to see the movies.”

Robbie also praised director Emerald Fennell for prioritizing emotional impact over a “heady idea,” saying, “She’s very smart… she’ll let a cool idea fall by the wayside to offer the option that’s going to be most exciting for the audience.”
