🎬 Residente Makes Directorial Debut with ‘Porto Rico’ ,  Featuring Oscar Winners and Bad Bunny 

Grammy-winning artist Residente is stepping behind the camera for his feature directorial debut with “Porto Rico,” a historical epic inspired by real events from Puerto Rico’s past.

The film stars Bad Bunny in his first leading role in a feature film, alongside an all-star cast that includes Academy Award winner Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), as well as Edward Norton and Viggo Mortensen, both multiple-time Oscar nominees.

Behind the scenes, the project brings even more Oscar pedigree. The screenplay is co-written by Residente and Academy Award winner Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman), with support from Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu, who is involved in the project’s development.

Described as a Caribbean western and historical drama, Porto Rico explores identity, resistance, and the island’s complex history. Residente has called the film a lifelong passion project rooted deeply in Puerto Rican culture and storytelling.

This marks a major crossover moment — Latin music, cinema, and award-winning talent colliding on a global stage.
