COURT UPDATE: A 21-year-old Lawrence man accused of shooting a crossbow at his sister made a brief procedural appearance in a Mineola courtroom Wednesday. 

His attorney, Stephen Mullkoff, says the incident was a prank that “went horribly wrong” and that the sister does not believe he meant to hurt her. Mullkoff also called the district attorney’s claim that the siblings argued over the home’s temperature “completely false.”
