BRIDGE RESCUE: A 16-year-old from Lynbrook who fell into a shaft inside a pillar of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge was rescued after being stuck there for several hours. Police say the fall happened while he was taking part in a TikTok challenge. The NYPD began searching after a 5:46 p.m. call, and Lynbrook police got involved when the boy’s mother saw a social media video showing him in the hole.

Officers located the teen who filmed the video and led NYPD and FDNY crews to the correct pillar, where they pulled the injured teen out. He was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell in stable condition with multiple injuries and hypothermia. It’s unclear if charges will be filed.
