80-year-old British singer, songwriter, and poet Labi Siffre is back after 28 years with a new album aptly titled 'Unfinished Business.' The album is set to release later this year. Siffre also made a rare live appearance on @BBC Radio 2 with orchestral renditions of “My Song,” a cover of the Four Tops’ “Baby I Need Your Loving,” and his new song “Far Away.” Over the past few years, there's been a well-deserved resurgence in Siffre’s music. From 2012 to 2025 there was a 5,800% increase in streams of his music on Spotify in the US (via Spotify). Siffre has been winning over a new generation partially through notable samples and syncs. He’s been sampled by Kanye West (“I Wonder”), Eminem (“My Name Is”), Jay-Z (“Streets Is Watching”) and more. Videos of old performance clips and interviews have added to the renewed interest in Siffre's music. While ‘Unfinished Business’ has no official release date just yet, we’re excited to see Labi’s remarkable career continue on. __ #pigeonsandplanes #labisiffre #newmusic #unfinishedbusiness
