Opposition Leader Mark Golding is among the political leaders in attendance at the funeral of reggae icon Stephen “Cat” Coore, paying tribute to the Third World co-founder as “one of Jamaica’s true musical giants.”

Also present are Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange and Finance Minister Fayval Williams, alongside dancehall artiste Sean Paul and members of the music fraternity.

The Almond String Quartet performed renditions of Now That We’ve Found Love and Keeping the Love Alive inside the UWI Mona Chapel, adding a solemn musical tribute to the service.

Musician Maxi Priest and music executive Copeland Forbes were also spotted among the mourners gathered to honour the late guitarist and cultural trailblazer.
