JYP Entertainment’s new HQ — the one not just Park Jinyoung but JYP stans and even K-pop fans have been waiting for — is facing delays.

With construction costs rising across the industry, the original plan to break ground in December 2025 has reportedly hit a snag. The company is said to be reassessing the total budget before moving forward.

Industry estimates previously put the project at over 200 billion KRW (roughly $138 million USD), but soaring global raw material prices, exchange rates, labor costs, and related financial expenses have pushed projected costs even higher. For large-scale builds like this, timelines stretch long — and total costs can shift by hundreds of millions of dollars.

Even JYP, known for its solid financial management, is now reportedly revisiting its funding strategy.

Park Jinyoung once proudly said the new building was “built by TWICE and Stray Kids.”

박진영뿐 아니라 JYP 팬들, 더 나아가 케이팝 팬들까지 기대해온 프로젝트인데요.

건설업계 전반의 공사비 상승으로 인해 당초 2025년 12월 착공 계획에 차질이 생겼고, 현재는 총공사비 재산정을 위한 작업을 추가로 진행 중인 것으로 알려졌습니다. 업계에서는 해당 프로젝트에 필요한 자금을 약 2000억원 이상으로 추산해왔지만, 국제 원자재 가격과 환율 상승, 건설 인건비 등 직접비 증가로 관리비·이윤·금융비용까지 연쇄적으로 오르면서 전체 사업비 조정이 불가피한 상황으로 보입니다.

특히 JYP 신사옥처럼 대형 프로젝트의 경우 공사 기간이 길어 수백억 원 단위로 비용 차이가 벌어질 수 있다는 분석도 나옵니다. 재무건전성으로 정평이 난 JYP조차 자금 조달 계획을 재논의 중인 이유입니다.

앞서 박진영은 신사옥에 대해 “트와이스와 스트레이 키즈가 지어줬다”고 말하며 자부심을 드러낸 바 있죠.
