Pavel Zacha opened up about not being able to go to Milan for the Olympics 💭

Zacha (named as one of Team Czechia's original six players) did not travel to Milan due to an injury sustained on January 29th that sidelined him prior to the Olympics in the NHL regular season. He notably did not play the Bruins final two games in Florida before the break but didn’t think his playing would stop there:

“I thought right away that I’m going to be going because it was getting better, and then just was stagnant and it started to get worse. Within three days it was good, and it started to get worse the next five, six days,” said Zacha of his injury

A collaborative decision between all parties (Bruins, Czech, Zacha) agreed to let Zacha stay sidelined for the games so he could rest for the NHL late season stretch. The veteran Czech is glad that he got some rest for that timeline. 

“It was not the easiest [decision], but on the other hand, not missing too many games in the regular season with the break, it’s also good that I had some time to kind of slowly come back.” (H/T Jim McBride, Boston Globe)
