20,000 paper planes made from red envelopes are falling from the sky, this weekend only 🧧 

TheWangContemporary is opening on Friday (a new cultural organization in New York City’s Chinatown) featuring an installation and performance by the infamous art collective MSCHF. 

The exhibition will transform the building’s seven-story atrium into a striking (and immersive) spectacle: a cascading torrent of paper airplanes reimagined from traditional Chinese red envelopes. Each guest is encouraged to pick up and unfold a paper plane, revealing its one-word invocation selected from 5,000 of the most commonly used nouns in the English language.
