When most people think of California, they think of beaches, but California is so much more when it comes to landscapes. There’s an endless amount to see in such a relatively short drive, so PackTheBus hopped in their bus and embarked on the ultimate Southern California road trip to see it for themselves!

From the beaches of Oceanside to the mountains of Idyllwild, down to the deserts to Joshua Tree National Park - this is one beautiful drive. ✨

🌴 Night 1 - Stay in VisitOceanside, California 🌴 
Enjoy walking the coastal boardwalk under the palm trees in this Southern California gem of a town. Eat lunch at the LightHouseOceanside and enjoy some drinks from the stunning ocean view at RooftopBarOside

🗻 Night 2 - Relax in Idyllwild 🗻
Drive up to the pine tree covered mountains of GoIdyllwild. This peaceful town is the perfect mountain getaway destination to get away from the busy city and reconnect with nature. We recommend staying at CreekStoneInn. The main street has so many fun shopping options and there’s amazing hikes in just about every direction.

🏜️ Night 3 - Palm Springs and Joshua Tree 🏜️
Spend the day poolside in VisitGreaterPS and soak up everything this desert oasis has to offer. Stay at ThePalomaResort and eat a fantastic dinner of Spanish inspired tapas at Sol.Y.Sombra.Restaurant. 

Once you’re ready to explore further, drive up to JoshuaTreeNPS to see the unique and beautiful Joshua Trees. If you’re looking for something a bit more western inspired, you can’t miss Pioneertown which is an old western town that doubles as a movie set for Hollywood!
