Most religions are built on the idea that we have to climb a ladder to reach God. But John 1:14 flips the script. The Message Bible says Jesus "moved into the neighborhood." He didn’t come as a tourist or a distant king; he got dusty feet, shared our zip code, and experienced the mundane reality of human life. He isn't a God who is up there looking down; he is the God who is right here walking with us.

Micro-Practice: Take a slow walk around your block or through your office today. As you pass people and places, remind yourself: "This is exactly the kind of neighborhood Jesus chose to live in."
