For this week’s story of #HowWeMetAtRU, we have Julie & Trevor ✨

"We met at an off-campus jello-wrestling party on Hamilton Street in the fall of 2003. The track team was hosting. I had a broken foot at the time from playing a tournament on the Rutgers Ultimate Frisbee Team (Go Shakit!). While passing each other in a crowded stairwell, my future husband (Trevor) says to me, "Hey! Aren't you in my physics class?" and I respond with, "I don't know." I had never seen him before. We started sitting together in the Physics Lecture Hall. 

We were getting together for a Halloween party a couple of weeks later, and I had some out-of-town friends visiting. A friend of mine stole Trevor's hat (a blue and white trucker hat that said "I'm #1") and ran off with one of his friends. Trevor and I later found them in a parked car. I decided to be funny and smoosh my face up on the window to give them a little scare. However, I tripped, hit the glass of a parked-car teeth-first, and chipped my front tooth. Oops! That didn't seem to be a deal breaker for him. 

The following semester we were Physics Lab partners. I found out he is also pretty smart and not too shabby of an athlete (2004 Big East Champion in the decathlon - I will gladly toot his own horn for him!). We left the banks to explore the west coast and spent 7 years in Santa Barabara, CA, before getting married and moving back to Jersey. We now have a couple of future Scarlet Knights of our own!"
