On 19 March 2006 at Piazza Castello in Turin, the Paralympic flame was officially extinguished, marking the end of nine unforgettable days of competition.

Over 470 athletes from 39 nations competed at the IX Paralympic Winter Games. As the cauldron faded, the world celebrated the athletes’ achievements and looked ahead to Vancouver 2010.
