At BC Place Stadium on 21 March 2010, Inuk throat singer Tania Tagaq delivered a powerful performance during the Closing Ceremony.

As she performed, Paralympian Kelly Smith was lifted into the air on a traditional Inuit blanket toss, a cultural celebration rooted in Arctic Indigenous communities. The moment honoured both athletic achievement and Canada’s Indigenous heritage.
