Sometimes a little free time and persuasion from others is all we need to get hooked.

For leedsunited fan Becky Collins, a pharmacist residing in Forth Worth, Texas, all it took was a summer of tweeting about her favorite ussoccer players to figure out who her #PL club would be.

The Kansas City, Missouri native gradually started following the beautiful game after it blew up in the 'Soccer Capital of America,' leading to her following Sporting Kansas City, usmnt and uswnt.

Years later, she became familiar with household names like Tyler Adams, Christian Pulisic, etc., and would watch their performances in their respective leagues.

However, it took her until last summer, when her pharmacy residency program concluded, to delve into the PL on Twitter.

She tweeted about American players in her free time, especially Leeds signing Brenden Aaronson and Adams.

One of her first tweets was her joking that she would cut the grass with scissors at Elland Road if Leeds signed Pulisic to continue the influx of Americans arriving at the club.

"Over the next couple of weeks, my follower count grew exponentially, with a legion of Leeds fans interacting with me by asking questions and sending videos of pregame warmups, players coming off the bus, etc."

She was hooked once Leeds fans taught her about the club’s rich history and supporters' culture.

"Once I was hired as a hospital pharmacist, watching weekend matchdays became difficult because I work a lot in the mornings. To show my newfound support, I began to wear Leeds kits under my scrubs and posted a picture on Twitter. It went viral and is now a matchday tradition.

Recently, my Twitter friend Mary sent a picture of her and Weston McKennie after she ran into him walking. They had a chat and she told him she has a friend who is a Leeds fan in Texas, so Wes knowing I exist is awesome!

I have never traveled outside of the USA besides Mexico, but I would love to meet Mary and others at Elland Road or an away day at Old Trafford.

I do not know if I could convince myself to go to a match with a kit under my scrubs, but it is definitely a thought worth welcoming one day.”
