President Donald Trump was joined by the families of victims of crimes committed by illegal migrants on Monday, in a ceremony designating an official "Angel Family Day."

We're willing to tell the story that the news doesn’t want to hear, the Democrats don’t want to hear," Trump said. "We want to stop murderers and criminals from coming into our country."

"Americans like Laken, and Grant, and Javier, and Joshua, Rocky, Rachel, Kayla. These are great people, and I'll never forget them," Trump said. "I just think you're among the most brave people."

Trump signed a proclamation declaring February 22 as "Angel Family Day" to honor two survivors and 62 people killed by illegal migrants. The date was chosen in remembrance of Laken Riley, who was killed by an illegal migrant on February 22, 2024.

"We're putting American citizens first, we're defending American lives, and we're fighting for every Angel Family," Trump said, when reading a letter sent to him by two grandparents whose 8-year-old granddaughter was hit and killed by an illegal migrant.
