Music education at St. Ambrose equipped Colin Evers '20 with the skills and passion to pursue a career in music, currently at his alma mater as the Coordinator for Music Ministry.

"The music scholarship I received made my education more affordable and served as a constant motivator for me to continue doing my best work," Evers said. "The skills I acquired at SAU have been constantly exercised throughout my studies and musical career."

Faculty and teaching artists at SAU are attentive to each musician's growth, instilling career readiness and a passion for lifelong music-making. Evers said piano lessons with Professor Marian Lee, DMA, influenced his approach to all music, regardless of style or difficulty.

"Committing to any career path can be scary. If music is something you love and want to pursue, you've found an excellent place to learn, and you are in good hands. Amidst the stress of exams and performances, try not to forget your love for your art and the reasons for choosing to study it."
