Someone once told me that even if you haven’t given birth yet, the moment you start growing a baby inside you, you’re already a mum. And I carry those words with me.

I won’t pretend pregnancy is easy. I’ve complained about the morning sickness that steals my appetite, the extreme exhaustion that makes even simple days feel heavy, and the strange feeling of not quite being myself. But how could I feel like just me anymore, when there’s someone else living, growing, and becoming inside of me? My body isn’t only mine right now- it’s ours.

Every time I see you on the screen in our ultrasound appointments, my heart swells in a way I can’t put into words. Seeing your tiny movements, your little shape, how you sleep with your mouth open (just like your mum 🥹🥹🥹). Your existence takes my breath away.

You’re real.
You’re alive.
You’re mine.

And in those moments, every ache, every wave of nausea, every challenge that I’m experiencing feels worth it- because I already love you more than I ever knew was possible. 🫶🏽
