Jessie Buckley has made history tonight at the EE BAFTA Film Awards, becoming the first Irish actress to take the top honour in the lead actress category ❤️

“I have no words that work right now,” she began when told of her history-making moment. 

“I’m so proud and I love what I do and I just want to keep making films and theatre and being part of this amazing community,” she said during an exclusive winners interview backstage at The Royal Festival Hall.

Adding: “I’m overwhelmed.”

She was presented the award by fellow Irish actor and BAFTA winner, Cillian Murphy
