Life After Moody: You’ve likely seen the viral video featuring #MoodyGrad Nicolas Suarez while scrolling through TikTok. Nic, actor and influencer, graduated from #TEXASMoody with his utexasrtf degree in 2020. Nic is based in Los Angeles and Dallas! He chose RTF because he wanted a major that would allow him to explore his creativity while also acquiring practical skills and building a network of fellow creatives.

Nic constantly uses the RTF skills he learned in college, including tangible skills like editing, coloring, and cinematography, which he applies in his videos, as well as abstract skills such as visual and spoken storytelling. “Without my time as an RTF student, I know I wouldn’t be able to create in the ways that I do currently.” Nic misses the high-quality equipment and workspaces available at #TEXASMoody and encourages current students to make the most of these resources while they are there.

Nic is known for his “shoe edit” transitions in his videos. “That type of video has become a part of my overall brand and something that I enjoy making, no matter how many times I do it.”

Creating content with his father has been a special experience for Nic.  “He shows up to every video with a great attitude and genuinely loves making people laugh and smile on the internet every day.” Nic has learned that a career in the entertainment industry is filled with ups and downs. “There will be times of success and times when it feels like everything is falling apart.” Despite the challenges, Nic has persevered through the tough moments, gaining a deeper understanding of how to move forward in his career.

Nic’s advice to students is to find a path that constantly inspires you. Ultimately, you will always return to what matters most to you. “Burnout is definitely real. However, I found that setting concrete and attainable goals helps keep you motivated and eager to show up, allowing you to create new content every day.”
