Of the many remarkable graduates who crossed the stage today, there was a special excitement as the School of Nursing students graduated. Among them, Dean’s Award winner Amelia Godwin stood out not just for her achievements, but for the profound impact she has on the NC community. 

Amelia’s story of resilience and dedication has touched us all. As a neurodivergent woman of color and a survivor of domestic abuse, she faced significant personal hurdles. Despite these challenges, she persevered as a mature student, raising two daughters while pursuing her Practical Nursing diploma.
 
Watch as she tirelessly cheers for every classmate crossing the stage, embodying the true spirit of nursing.
