## Caption

It has been a while since we could post one of these videos but we here at the Sacramento History Museum are, of course, proud of the home team! It has been a rough season so far but Alex letterpress printed something for the Sacramento Kings who broke that losing streak!

We had to get out some large wood type that was made in the late 1880s by the Hamilton Wood Type Company for this occasion. The typeface is French Clarendon. The text reads “LIGHT THE BEAM!” The text below “Sacramento Proud” was typeset in 60 point Caslon font. The beam appears over the Golden 1 Center when the Kings win. This was printed with purple oil base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852.
