I fell in love with a small town …

And lately, it’s felt like I’m asking it to love me back.

Not just in a poetic way (although yes it’s the title of my new album) … but in the real-life ways that matter: paperwork, dignity, medical care, who gets treated like family when things get scary.

These bills in Tennessee are being sold as “values,” but what they actually do is give people permission to decide whose marriage is real enough to respect … and that spills into everyday life fast.

I hate living in a world where I have to picture this:
showing up sick, vulnerable, needing help… and getting turned away because someone’s beliefs say my life doesn’t count.

I’m not asking for special treatment.
I’m asking for equal treatment.
And I’m asking my home to choose its people over politics.

If you’re in Tennessee and you’ve been feeling that quiet dread too … I see you. If you’re not in Tennessee, please still pay attention. This is how rights get tested: one state, one bill, one “exception,” and suddenly the floor moves under all of us.
