Congratulations to Cadet Madison Kuriger, Cadet Jacob Poel, and last spring’s regimental commander, Thomas Feely — the Corps’ newest Aspire! Award recipients. 

Student Affairs’ Aspire! Awards honor Hokies who live the Aspirations for Student Learning: curiosity, integrity, civility, courageous leadership, and Ut Prosim as a way of life. 

Jacob Poel, recognized for practicing civility, said: “When I enter a conversation with the goal of hearing someone, it is almost impossible to walk away without learning something.” 

Madison Kuriger, honored for courageous leadership, shared: “I care deeply about cross cultural understanding, language learning, and creating opportunities for students to grow through exposure, mentorship, and service.” 

Thomas Feely, also recognized for civility, said: “Some of the folks I love to engage with the most are those who share different opinions, because when we talk, we are seeking to understand.”
