One of our newest residents is making waves this #ManateeAppreciationDay! 🌊
Earlier this month, we rescued an orphaned calf from Crystal River. This calf marks the 100th manatee rescued by our very own manatee stranding team and the 602nd wild manatee brought into our David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center for rehabilitation. 
 
As a leader in saving Florida’s iconic species for 34 years, we are excited to continue our legacy as we expand our conservation and rehabilitation capabilities. In the next month, we will open two more critical care pools. Meanwhile, construction of the new Manatee Rescue continues which will allow our guests to witness the lifesaving work done daily to protect these gentle sea cows while providing unforgettable educational moments and memories for visitors of all ages. Manatee Rescue is scheduled to open Spring 2026.
