I started my food photography journey in 2016, when I started The Korean Vegan. It’s been a decade since I decided to take on a new hobby, veganizing all my favorite foods and documenting that journey with everyone else. It’s amazing what a small hobby can turn into—mine turned into a career.

There’s always a fear that once you transform a hobby into a job, it’ll stop being fun. That hasn’t been the case for me. I love cooking, baking, recipe developing, eating (which is a big part of my job!), and I love making it look beautiful. Strike that—I love capturing the beauty IN it.

A few months ago, I watched a bunch of viral videos on how to make shio pan or Japanese salt bread. I knew I had to try it. So I did. Many times! I wanted to come up with a recipe that was delicious, dairy free, and also not so intimidating to home bakers. The recipe will be going out to everyone signed up for my Thursday Recipe Roundups tomorrow morning. You can sign up for that at the link in my bio. <3
