On this day last year, Brendan Loughnane finally achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a world champion.

During his 16-year career, Loughnane faced many ups and downs. From being snubbed by the UFC to controversially losing in Dublin, Loughnane stayed determined and managed to bag the ultimate prize: a world title and a million dollar cheque.
