Four years ago, #BobIger emerged from retirement to steady Disney after a turbulent two years plagued by the pandemic and Bob Chapek’s failure to make inroads with creatives. Now, D’Amaro is tasked with weathering AI disruption, reviving #StarWars and #Marvel, and saving the Magic Kingdom.

As chairman of Disney Experiences, #JoshDAmaro has been responsible for major park price hikes — an issue he’ll have to confront in his new role. One-day Disney park passes now top $200, with annual passes reaching $1,628. But despite pricing backlash, fans and employees still revere Josh D’Amaro as the executive most loyal to Walt Disney’s original vision. He’s regarded among employees for his politician-like ability to make anyone he encounters feel seen and heard. They call it “the Josh Effect.”

“Josh lives, eats and breathes the brand,” says Kevin Mayer, former head of Disney’s global streaming business. “I don’t think he’ll shrink from the spotlight. He’s a perfect ambassador for Disney, because he embodies its ethos.”
