🚨 BREAKING: Near-blind refugee found dead after Border Patrol allegedly released him alone miles from home 🚨

Nurul Amin Shah Alam, a 56-year-old Rohingya refugee who was nearly blind and spoke no English, was reportedly detained by U.S. Border Patrol — and then released at a Tim Hortons five miles from his home in Buffalo.

No ride. No phone. No help. No notice to his family.

Days later, he was found dead on a city street.

Shah Alam had survived persecution in Burma and came to the United States seeking safety just 15 months ago. His family says they expected him to remain in custody or be transferred — not dropped off alone in an unfamiliar area with no way to get home.

For days, his loved ones searched desperately. Police initially believed he was still in custody. Now homicide investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding his death.

Advocates say the tragedy raises serious questions about how vulnerable detainees are handled — especially those with disabilities, language barriers, and no support system.

He survived genocide. He survived displacement. But somehow, he didn’t survive the system that was supposed to protect him.

He leaves behind a wife, two sons, and a grieving community demanding answers.
