I have been deeply inspired by @Jyoty’s videos in which she discusses her stance of why DJs having to release music in order to further their career is against the very essence of being a DJ. I am even more inspired whenever her videos pop up on my FYP regarding the event she is putting on simply for DJs who love to curate and love to DJ for dancers. I created this video, to honor and further push her message.  I feel deeply that my job as a DJ is to curate a space that makes you feel free free. I perform from the energy of my ancestors. It goes against my grain, to create from a place that doesn’t bring me joy. Producers have a distinct role and we have a distinct role to uplift their music. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
