Happy two-year anniversary to my business!

I left the “safety” of a 9-5 life because:

- Employers tried to constrain me within a box where I simply didn’t fit.

- My unique perspective as a former journalist wasn’t valued or compensated appropriately.

- I felt bored and uninspired.

Starting my own business allowed me to create my unique space—one that encompasses all my strengths and, more importantly, only involves work I genuinely enjoy.

Since branching out on my own, I attract clients who think differently, who take innovative approaches to branding, and who recognize the value of specialized expertise over one-size-fits-all solutions.

Three key lessons I’ve learned in the past two years.

1. Hard skills are crucial, but what really attracts GOOD clients is your personality and their trust in you. It all boils down to having ‘rizz’ – that unique charisma and rapport-building ability. You need to have it if you want to make any real money.

2. Running a business is a journey of cycles, especially when growing new aspects. Not everything succeeds immediately. It requires discernment to understand what’s worth pursuing and what isn’t. Much of this hinges on introspection and listening to your instincts. Connecting with this inner wisdom is essential.

3. Embracing an abundance mindset is vital. Being comfortable with the notion that everything could collapse tomorrow, yet confidently knowing that if you built it once, you can rebuild it again, is key.

Two years ago, I took back control of my life. For anyone on the brink of a similar leap, I wish you the same clarity and fulfillment. 🖤
