The current funding model for the Associated Students of the University of Missouri (ASUM), a club celebrating its 50th anniversary Friday, has been dismantled. Mizzou’s revocation of ASUM’s funding was determined after consultation with legal counsel, per an email from Travis Zimpfer, the Mizzou News Bureau deputy spokesperson.

“We are your voice in the capital, period. For the first time in fifty years, students will not directly have a voice in the capital,” Logan Kuykendall, former ASUM President and current MSA President, said. “While yes, the UM System will, what the university wants and what students want are two very different things.”

Current ASUM President Connor Everhart notes that the organization is currently expected to dissolve after this school year without the present funding model.
