Three years ago today we renewed our vows.

Not because our marriage was perfect.
But because it wasn’t.

Here’s your reminder (and mine) that marriage is not a fairytale. It’s not 50/50. It’s 100% from each person - every single day. Even on the days you could list a hundred reasons to walk away. Especially on those days.

Marriage isn’t about perfection. It’s about choosing each other in the lowest valleys. It’s about looking at your person when life feels heavy and remembering why you chose them in the first place.

We have walked through things that should have broken us. Infertility. Adoption. Heartache. A vow renewal. A miracle pregnancy. Twelve years of growing up together. And somehow, every hard season has rooted us deeper instead of tearing us apart.

We still don’t have a perfect marriage. We never will.
But when I look at my husband and the family we’ve built, I have never felt more grateful for this beautifully imperfect life.

To truly love someone is to know their flaws. To know their worst days. To see every crack in the foundation — and stay. It’s loving someone not in spite of their imperfections, but including them. We are all deeply flawed humans. And when you find another flawed human whose broken pieces fit yours… you hold on.

God has blessed us in more ways than I can count. But the greatest blessing He ever gave me was you, Steven.

Here’s to 50 more years. 
And a whole lot more imperfect days.
