It’s been 182 days since Portland last had a 70-degree day. That’s 4,368 hours or 262,080 minutes or 15,724,800 seconds. A long, long time.

According to Clinton Rockey, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, Portland usually gets its first 70-degree day in late March or early April. Not this year.

“The weather is just not wanting to switch over to spring,” Rockey said, adding, “Enough’s enough.”

There is some good news on the horizon, for Rockey and all the fed-up and damp Portlanders: Next week, the clouds will part, at least temporarily.

Time to start dreaming of chilling in your hammock with an ice-cold beverage while "Run Away With Me" blasts from your bluetooth speaker.
