Almost a week ago, community members, families, artists, and elected officials gathered for the very first Wadee Day. It was a solemn and powerful commemoration honoring the life of Wadee AlFayoumi, a six-year-old Palestinian American child murdered on American soil in October 2023. Wadee’s killing marks the first anti-Palestinian hate-driven murder on U.S. soil since the genocide on Gaza.

We were joined by partners demanding that our communities be counted in voice, in presence, and in power.

Important dates are coming:
October 6 — Wadee’s Birthday
October 14 — marks two years since we lost Wadee
