#FedEx is ready to run those coins back, but only if the government cuts them a check first. The delivery giant announced it will refund customers for any tariff costs it previously charged IF the Trump administration reimburses the company, according to cbsnews. ___________________________
In a statement, FedEx said that if it receives refunds, it’ll pass that money right back to the shippers and consumers who originally paid those fees. However, the timeline and process for getting that money back will depend on future guidance from the government and the courts.

This comes just days after FedEx filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Court of International Trade demanding a “full refund” of payments it made under specific tariff policies that were later ruled illegal by the Supreme Court of the United States on February 20. ___________________________ 
The ruling found that tariffs issued under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) were unlawful, but it did not address whether businesses are automatically owed refunds. FedEx says it’s taking action to protect its rights as an importer of record and to seek duty refunds from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Other companies, like Bausch + Lomb, Dyson, and L’Oréal, have faced more than 1,000 lawsuits since Liberation Day last year. reuters reports that up to $175 billion in U.S. tariff collections are eligible for refunds, according to Penn Wharton Budget Model economists.
