The 1950s were our runway to the future. We began reshaping the way travelers chose their seats with the Magnetronic Reservisor, a breakthrough that made flying feel a little more futuristic. Not long after, we launched operations at O'Hare almost 30 years after that first flight between St. Louis, and opened our Stewardess College, shaping generations of hospitality.

During this decade, we pioneered cross-country service and as our routes expanded, so did our people. It was a decade full of ambition and the spirit of possibility. ✈️ #American100 #ForeverForward
